To assist these young adults wanting to experience international opportunities, the Oregon Synod (in conjunction with the Oregon Synod Global Mission Committee) has established a scholarship. Introducing American Foods-
Getting pampered at a Body Shop Party
-by Sarah Davis
One of the new ministries Viv and I have started this term is an after-school milkshake bar. We want the youth to come in with their friends, chat about their day, and feel comfortable spending time in the church. Somehow, I’ve ended up being the genius of the American milkshake and consistently make the best they’ve ever tasted. I love chatting with the youth while making Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Banana, Strawberry, Vanilla, Toffee, and Chocolate Mint milkshakes. In the process, Viv and I are generating a bit of money so we can support other Youth events.
Not only am I the master of the milkshake bar, but I’ve also introduced the youth to a few other Americanized foods. For our Sunday Group-After-Church (GAC) I’ve made warm chocolate chip cookies and on another occasion nachos. Both the youth and adults have been asking when I can come over and cook dinner for them in their homes.
