Meet ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson
In August 2001, the Churchwide Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) elected Mark S. Hanson to serve as presiding bishop.

Before being elected presiding bishop, he served as bishop of the Saint Paul Area Synod (3H). He had been elected to serve a second term in Saint Paul earlier that same year. Prior to being elected synod bishop,  he served as pastor of three Minnesota congregations: ( more )

The Bethel Players
The Bethel Players are an outreach ministry of Bethel Lutheran Church in Portland. They have put on numerous plays throughout the years. Their play dates are usually the last weekend in October and the first two weekends in November. Last year they raised over $14,000 for their Drop In Summer Program. They will be preforming at the Oregon Synod Assembly this year. Do we know much else? Well, there might be pirates, there might not be. There might be a cruise ship, there might not be.
