Our faith as Lutherans in Oregon is under fire. During this 500th Anniversary of the Reformation we remember the times and places early Lutherans found themselves ‘under fire.’ How did we respond?
* The Confessing Church, with Dietrich Bonhoeffer, found itself ‘under fire’ in Nazi Germany.
* Martin Luther King, Jr. and Civil Rights advocates found themselves ‘under fire’ decades ago – and still we ask "Do Black Lives Matter?"
* Today we experience church decline, political changes, climate concerns, fear and confusion around any number of “isms.” How are we sanctuary? Where does the Gospel speak?
The time to talk about our talk has come. Our Oregon Synod Bishop's Convocation 2017 looks at "Faith Under Fire." Opportunity abounds!
