Application and Approval Process

Whenever a ministry that meets the guidelines is available. Grants applications need not be made on a specific date, frequency or time-line.

An application form is available from the Oregon Synod. Be prepared to provide the following information:

• Contact information for church and project leader

• A description of the project and desired outcomes

• A detailed projection of timelines and milestones

• A list of partners in the project

• A schedule of requested funding from the Synod and other sources

• A list of anticipated obstacles and available solutions

• A projection of the benefits 3-5 years following the funding

When it receives an application, the Endowment Fund Board must consult with the Synod Bishop, the Mission Director and the Outreach Committee Chair before it can commit to a grant. The Board will then establish related terms and conditions. The congregation must report on the progress of the project 2 times per year for the duration of the grant, and the Endowment Board will condition continued funding on satisfactory completion of established timelines and milestones.

New Beginnings Fund Reports

We ask you to report on the progress of your New Beginnings Fund project every 6 months for the duration of the grant. Your first report will be due about 8 months after notification that you are receiving a grant. The Oregon Synod Endowment Board and Outreach Committee will review your report before sending the next portion of the grant money.
