Greetings to the Lutheran community in the Oregon Synod.
LDR-NW is actively participating in the Recovery Phase of the Disaster Response.
We have declarations in six
counties.  The number of households impacted as of this date, are as follows:  Clatsop County 1644; Columbia County 776; Polk County 86; Tillamook county 426; Yamhill County 75 and Washington County 36.

To help these communities and families, we are reaching out to you for your help.
1.  Long Term Recovery Committees (LTRC) are being formed in each county.  We need a Lutheran representative at each of these LTRCs.  If interested, contact Norene Goplen at LutheranAdvocate@aol.com or 503-502-6211.
2.  Rebuilding and Cleanup Crews are needed through the Spring and Summer.  Would your congregation like to sponsor a crew?  Do you have skilled crew leaders in your church?
3.  To help families we have started a Pantry Starter Project.  Download PDF Pantry Starter Information
4.   To support the work of the Rebuilding and Cleanup Crews we have purchased a Tool Trailer.  We now need to fill it with tools.

Cursillo Retreat

“Cursillo” is a Spanish word (pronounced “coor-see-yo”) that means “a short course”. A Cursillo is a Spiritual Retreat, a short course in the basics of the Christian Faith. It’s a renewal movement that began in the Roman Catholic Church in Spain, but is now ecumenical and international.

A Lutheran Cursillo Retreat will be held in Oregon, April 24-27th, at Canby Grove Christian Camp and Conference Center, in Canby, sponsored by St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Gladstone and St. Mark Lutheran Church, Salem.

The Retreat begins Thursday evening and ends Sunday afternoon. Costs vary based on the degree of privacy one would like in their room accommodations (see registration form). Meals are included. Space is limited and registration is the way to reserve your preference.

For questions or for further information, contact Pastor Scott Dunfee, St Stephen Lutheran Church, Gladstone, Oregon (503.656-8194) or Pastor Janell Bethke, Oregon Synod Interim Ministry (503.667-7897), the Spiritual Directors for this Retreat
