Objectives to the Program: To help church council members and congregation leaders understand their role and responsibilities in the context of their faith in Jesus Christ and in relationship to the church.

• To teach leadership skills and practical application of these skills
• To share what has worked in other congregations
• To share available resources
  

• Program Format
• 4-6 hour workshop
• scheduled cluster or individual congregation
• designed for church council members, pastors, and congregation leaders
• Content: Congregation planners and synod workshop leaders will select topics to be covered depending on the congregation's need and situation.

• visioning
• communication
• priority setting and planning
• organizing to get the job done
• fiduciary responsibilities
• dealing with personal issues and developing personnel policies
• leadership skills building
• conflict management
• team building
• next step opportunities
• ethics
• handling finances
